Apps for Your Affiliate Business

iphonesNowadays everything happens on the go. Business, entertainment, social life, all of this stuff, and a lot more probably. No surprise that affiliate marketers need to find a way to be able to live like this too.

And by live, we mean work. Hence the following list of interesting iPhone and Android apps that will surely come handy to every affiliate who wants to do most of their business on their mobile phones. Sitting in front of a computer is just so 2006.

The main trick, however, is not to download every app available and never actually use them. If you want to make sure that your apps are 100% useful and helpful you should try to get the mobile versions of the tools you’re already using. All this will become clear in a minute when we start describing the apps.

1. Google Analytics

Google Analytics is among the most popular website analytics tools available. One reason is that it’s free, the other is that it’s great, and the final one is that it’s been developed by the biggest player on the internet.

There are a couple of apps for both iPhone and Android. For instance:

Of course, you don’t have to use Google Analytics for your affiliate site, but you have to use something. So if you’ve decided to go for an alternative tool you’re going to have to find an app for it on your own.

2. WordPress

WordPress is a very popular platform among affiliate marketers, and not without a reason. It’s the easiest to use free website management system, and now you can get a mobile app for WordPress to manage your blog’s content on the go. It comes really handy if, for example, you want to quickly log in to approve some comments.

3. Twitter

Twitter is probably the most favorite social network for affiliates. Every day, thousands of marketers have their try at pitching something to their followers, or to anyone who happens to mention a given keyword. Twitter is all about mobile, so such a list cannot be compiled without some Twitter apps.

4. Email List Manager

Email marketing is one of the most popular methods of promotion for affiliates all around the world. Most of the time, various campaigns are carefully thought through and planned, but there are times when a certain piece of news pops up, and if you manage to mail your list about it first then you’re most likely to make the most money. In such cases a mobile app comes handy.

There are many companies offering email newsletter services, but there are two that can be considered the market leaders: AWeber and MailChimp.

Unfortunately, AWeber does not provide any mobile apps, but MailChimp does, and they’re free.

5. Affiliate Network Apps

No matter what network you’re a part of you probably want to know what’s going on on your account and be able to check your commissions for the day.

Depending on your network you might have to do some looking around on your own because not every company provides a custom iPhone or Android app. If you’re a member of ClickBank, however, we can point you towards several interesting apps.

6. PayPal

PayPal is one of the most popular payment processor platforms on the internet. Even though checks are still the common way of paying affiliates, many affiliate networks have decided to include PayPal payments as well.

The benefits of using a mobile PayPal app are obvious. You get access to your account wherever you are.

Important note. Never get a third party PayPal app. There’s much PayPal fraud going on, so to be safe download only official apps released by PayPal itself.

7. FreshBooks

FreshBooks is an online invoicing platform. It lets you issue invoices, send them out to clients, and even collect payments. Depending on the kind of affiliate agreement you’re in you might find such thing useful.

There’s an iPhone app recommended by FreshBooks – it’s called MiniBooks. When it comes to Android, there are probably some things in development, but the only app available now is in its beta phase. It’s called Droidbooks for FreshBooks.

8. Dropbox

Dropbox is a kind of tool you don’t know you need until you actually get it and then can’t imagine life without it. Dropbox is a data synchronization tool that makes sure you can access your data on multiple devices, and that it looks the same on all of them.

This is really useful for storing various information about your campaigns, example ads, PDFs, and all sorts of other things.

9. Gmail

Many affiliates have decided to switch to Gmail instead of working with other email providers, or standalone email software like Thunderbird or Outlook. Gmail is easy to use, accessible, and has virtually no limits when it comes to disk space (for average usage). Being able to access your email inbox from anywhere at any point in time is truly crucial for every marketer. Despite all the social media development, these days, the internet still works around email communication.

Native email apps for iPhone or Android can handle Gmail with no problem, but to get the most out of it you should consider getting a custom app designed especially to work with Gmail.

This concludes the list of affiliate-friendly mobile apps. We know that such a list could be five or even ten times bigger than it is now, but making it big is not the point. The point is to get only these mobile apps that will be really useful to you and the business you’re in. That’s also why you don’t have to get every app presented above. Take your pick and don’t clutter your phone with unnecessary apps.

Furthermore, what other apps do you consider being crucial for an affiliate? Feel free to share in the comments.
