Five Helpful Tools for Generating Facebook Cover Photos

The Facebook cover photo for your fan page says a lot about your brand. It’s there to draw the attention of the visitor and pull them into the feed. Your average FB cover photo may be a photo you’ve uploaded (which is fine and all) but it doesn’t quite stand out for your brand. Your next course of action may be to purchase a basic stock photo. You don’t necessarily need to do this, truth be told, because there are already a lot of great tools out there that can create amazing cover photos absolutely free (though still check for … Continue reading

A Friendly Reminder about Affiliate Disclosure

Today’s post is going to be a short but important one. The FTC’s 16 CFR § 255.5 (you can read it, here) states that affiliates are required to disclose their relationship whenever a product or service is being promoted. By doing so it keeps within the guidelines so that individuals may understand your angle and make an informed opinion about the endorsement. Essentially: You need to let people know that you are affiliating with the product. Failing to provide this disclosure can land you in legal troubles. I found a great article over on that places a few guidelines … Continue reading

Subreddits: The how, what, and why

Subreddits, the custom-made forums by users, are the main staple of Reddit. Browsing through the front page and you can see the more popular ones such as /r/gaming, /r/worldnews, /r/gadgets, and more, but Reddit isn’t just about the main subreddits; the real draw comes from the fact that you can find a subreddit on just about any topic or interest you could imagine. What some users have done is create subreddits for their businesses and so I thought it would be a good time to talk about the how, what, and why you should do the same. Let’s start with … Continue reading

Is the Fear of Missing Out preventing you from obtaining Success?

The fear of missing out (FOMO) is that feeling you get when you see others doing interesting activities and the sinking dread that what you’re doing isn’t as fun and that you are missing out on the activity. Pretty straight forward, right? It’s that type of feeling you get when you’re sitting at home on a Friday night and all you see is your Facebook feed with tons of pictures of your friends attending parties, going off on adventures, and having a blast – you feel left out. This happens in business, too. Feeling like you’re not on the cutting … Continue reading

I love Amazon Associates. I love it because: People trust the website You can offer a wide range of physical products The companies handle the customer support When you think of where you purchase products online it will almost always point to because it’s a website you trust. Other incentives such as Amazon Prime makes it extremely attractive to those debating on purchasing at retail vs online. Simply put: If they’re ready to buy and they’re on Amazon… they’re going to buy. I’ve been working with the Amazon Associates program for a number of years, now, and wanted to … Continue reading

A Simple Solution for Group Video Chat

I’m always keeping my eyes out for neat applications that can help with online business and life in general – today I think I’ve my new favorite: Talky. I immediately thought about the others we all know: Google Hangouts WebEx Skype Overall these are kind of clunky or require accounts. What caught my attention with Talky was that you can be up and running with a group chat in mere seconds without any account or even having to provide some kind of handle so you can remain anonymous during the conversation. Type in the name of your room and… Ready … Continue reading

How to Find Broken Links on Your Website (the Easy Way)

Broken links are like vampires in the sense they suck away your potential to keep visitors engaged (and your business having the chance to convert on an offer). Over time, websites become quite massive so when you begin playing around with the pages it becomes very easy to break quite a few links. Normally what would happen is you receive an email (hopefully) from someone having trouble accessing a page or you stumble across them through your analytics. But what if you have a huge site? One that may happen to have a plethora of broken links. Well… there are … Continue reading

The Holiday Season: What to Do and What to Promote

Now obviously I can’t cover all the holidays that are happening during the latter part of the year so let’s consider the big four that everyone will go bonanza for: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s. Each of these holidays seem to be getting bigger and bigger with each passing year. You’ll see retail rolling out promotions to the point they’re overlapping the holidays. These big four are generally the easy money-makers. What I wanted to do is put together a short post/guide on what you can promote and what you can do during this holiday season. Halloween Halloween isn’t as … Continue reading
