FBSubmitter: Facebook Opt-ins for Your Email List

These days, email marketing is nothing new online. People have been using it as an important part of their affiliate businesses for a number of years now.

However, using Facebook for email marketing (in one form or the other) is kind of new. And this is exactly where a new WordPress plugin – FBSubmitter – comes into play.

The main functionality of this plugin is quite easy to explain. Instead of displaying a standard opt-in form, where a visitor has to provide their name and email, and then confirm their subscription, the plugin offers a lot more user-friendly solution.

FBSubmitter allows you to display just one big button, which you can use as a download button for your gift. Then once someone clicks it, they get presented with a standard Facebook’s “Request for Permission” pop-up.

If they click Allow, they’ll be instantly subscribed to your email list. Your new subscribers also have the possibility to post a message on their Wall, which gives your list a higher potential to become viral (if your gift is attractive enough).

The Good

What’s great about this plugin is that it’s simple to use and has a really easy-to-grasp purpose. It’s just a simple button doing one specific job.

Also, all emails you gather through Facebook are most likely to be real emails, instead of some throw-away addresses people never actually use.

What’s also worth noticing is that FBSubmitter works with two of the most popular email marketing solutions, MailChimp and AWeber.

The Bad

The official sales page doesn’t provide that much information about the product, and it doesn’t mention any customer support platform. The whole thing gives a kind of work-in-progress impression.

There’s just one plan, so things are as straightforward as they can get. The price tag says $27 (one-time payment). Plus, there’s a 60-day money-back-guarantee.

Customer Support

Not disclosed. There’s a contact form available on the site, which is probably the main channel through which you can get support.

“As soon as I switched from a regular opt-in form, to using the FBSubmitter Optin Plugin, my opt-ins increased by at least 30%!  AND  Because the email information comes directly from Facebook, it’s more likely to be a real email address.”

The Bottom Line

The plugin is quite simple and it offers a pretty easy-to-grasp functionality, so there’s not much that can go wrong.

Nowadays, having the possibility to use one-click opt-ins for your email lists is surely a big benefit.

Assuming that Facebook’s policy regarding such things won’t change anytime soon this plugin can be a great asset in your marketing arsenal, but it all depends on how willing the authors are to update it on a regular basis.

In the end, good plugin for this one-off task of displaying a one-click opt-in button. Apart from that, there’s not much it has to offer.

Overall rating: 4/5.
