First things first, installing WordPress takes just a small amount of time and can be done by anybody, no matter how internet savvy you are. The whole process consists of only 5 steps:
1. Registering a Domain Name
Registering a domain name is where the fun starts. You can’t launch any website if you don’t have a domain. The whole thing requires only a minor investment of less than $10 a year.
When you’re ready to register a domain we advise going to GoDaddy (only $1.99 for your first domain). For some in-depth advice on how to register your first domain visit: How To Register A .com & Buy A Domain.
2. Setting Up Hosting
Once you have your domain you can start searching for a web host. If you’re just starting out you can get a “shared hosting” plan. It’s low price and will be more than enough to get you going.

5. Configuring WordPress
There are three main parts to proper WordPress configuration: you need to take care of the basic settings, install the essential plugins, and get a quality theme.
Basic settings are things like your site’s name (go to WordPress admin > Settings > General), the tagline, and the permalink structure (Settings > Permalinks). Of course, there’s a lot more things you can set, but getting the above done is the absolute minimum.
There are lots of themes available online (including many free ones), but we advise you to go with a respected theme store named DIYthemes. Find out how to get and set up their flagship product – Thesis Theme.
If you want to experience the full potential of WordPress you need to get your hands on some plugins. The best place to start is to get a great SEO plugin – WordPress SEO by Yoast.
