Travel Affiliate Programs: Choosing a Top Program

Travel Affiliate Programs: Choosing a Top Program – AffiliatePrograms.comNow that you’ve learned a little about affiliate programs for Internet Marketing and Health and Beauty, it’s time to discuss another popular category, travel. Travel affiliate programs are a great way to monetize sites such as personal travel diaries, sites geared toward touring a specific location, such as a country or region, and sites focused on a type of vacation, such as “traveling with kids” or “visiting Disney theme parks.”

Here are a few samples of the kinds of travel programs you’ll find along with some recommendations on programs you might want to explore.

Priceline – If Priceline is good enough for William Shatner, it’s good enough for your travel site! Priceline is one of the most recognizable brands in budget travel, and they offer several unique travel products – airline tickets, hotels, rental cars, vacation packages and more. While Priceline’s affiliate program makes it easy for you to participate via CJ, you should note they manually approve affiliates. That means that as a new affiliate, it’s very likely you’ll need to send their affiliate manager an email to get approved.

Entertainment – The Entertainment book is a popular coupon book that offers dramatic discounts on local products and services along with slight discounts on airfare, hotels and rental cars. Because this enormous book of coupons has broad appeal beyond one niche, this is a great program for a travel site (with the right pre-selling) but could also be at home on a discount or coupon code affiliate site.

Orbitz – Orbitz is a leading online travel company offering leisure and business travelers a wide selection of deals on air travel, hotels, rental cars, cruises, vacation packages and other deals! Like Priceline, Orbitz is a price-driven website, which encourages buyers to aggressively shop for discounts. It’s a well-known brand name and would be a good fit alongside Priceline and Travelocity on just about any relevant affiliate site.

Travelocity – Like Priceline and Orbtiz, Travelocity is a one-stop shop for travel. The great thing about Travelocity is that they’re a major brand on Commission Junction that automatically approves new publishers. If you’re looking to get started with a travel affiliate program and you don’t want to wait, go to CJ and sign up today. You’ll also find out about their current performance bonus, which changes on a monthly basis. In addition, Travelocity had one of the highest EPC (Earnings per thousand clicks) numbers in CJ’s travel section — $62.13 at the time this post was written.

Check it out on Commission Junction. – This affiliate program offers you a very unique opportunity to build your own white label travel store. What this means is that you can add a link to a travel store that’s branded with your site’s name and logo to your site. When you send traffic to this store, you’re still sending potential buyers as an affiliate. So while you’re enjoying the benefits of reinforcing the brand of your business with customers, you won’t have any of the headaches of running a travel agency.
