The best way is to form a group of some sort and get the group active. Then you can monetize it by holding special events for the group, or introducing special offers.
If you're group becomes big enough, you can also use it as a launching pad for a custom facebook application. Overall though I think marketing on facebook is a million times harder than it used to be on Myspace........ Ahh the good old days.
