Hi,
I'm still very much a newbie. I joined the forum today and have so many questions! I'm glad to see many people have posted questions and received answers that are very much along the lines of information I'm looking for.
I'm thinking of moving my site from a typical web site to a CMS oriented site either with Wordpress or Joomla and I'd also like to incorporate datafeeds, if that's possible. I just don't know exactly what this would look like and I'm wondering if anyone would be able to direct me to a site that incorporates these elements, so I can see an example of this?
Also, I'm not 100% clear on just what a datafeed is, exactly. For instance, my niche is shoes. If I only want certain types of shoes, i.e., in my case narrow width shoes and my merchants offer narrow shoes on their sites, is it possible to only request their narrow shoe feeds?
Lastly, I'm wondering if it's possible, once I have feeds loaded on my site, to set up drop down menu boxes so that people can bring up a style of shoe, their size and their specific width? I know it would be too hard to ask anyone to create something that is very specific but just enough so that viewers can get a general sense of what's available in their hard to find size.
Is all of this doable? or am I dreaming far and beyond the scope of what is realistic for a small affiliate site? One site that I've visited that is similar to what I'd like to do (although much more involved than I could possibly do at this point) is shoewawa.com, just to give you an example. My site is
thenarrowshoe.com.
I'd love to hear your thoughts and suggestions as to how to make this concept that I have in my head more realistic.
Thanks!
