I just got a fully loaded Dell XPS with Vista and I absolutely love it! I think the hardware has a huge affect on performance. I have it installed on my laptop and it does not run nearly as smoothly.
When I first tried Vista about a year ago I was not happy because there was a lot of hardware and software conflicts and it was frustrating, but now you can plug in older stuff and the drivers are included in the OS saving you the hassle of searching the net. If you have the stuff like wireless headsets, the new mouse with back/forward/tilt buttons, keyboards that allow you to launch and control media applications and programable keys and other stuff on a high performance systems then you will appreciate vista. |

No vista here, nor any plans to "upgrade". For me, XP is stable, has more than enough features, and just works. After all, the computer which I'm using right now (733mhz/256mb) reads and posts on these forums just as well as the latest 3.xxGB/tonsofRAM does. With a fast internet connection (I'm on Charter @ 5mbps), it has no trouble whatsoever browsing/working on the web. It also runs all of the software which I use nicely, and it is also my main product development machine.
So, where is my incentive to "Upgrade"?...... - Darrell |

For now, I'm running Windows XP Pro and somehow, I don't feel the need of upgradation. Also, the vista consumes alot of resources so I don't see any point in upgrading to it - at least for me, for now.
