Default MySpace tutorial

I've had some great success using MySpace as a referral to my site. Not millions of hits, but it's definitely building and is my biggest referral. Here's what I've done --

- Find a reliable friend bot. I'm using Friend Blaster Pro. The trial version only lets you send 50 requests today which is fine for me. You can pay and send more friend requests or use another bot like Legal Adder or AdderBot.

- Send out friend requests daily to people with your common interests. But do it in a smart way -- find people who have the same interests as your site. My site is about frugality and using coupons so I did group searches for those interests, then used my Friend Bot to harvest the profiles and sent friend requests.

- Every time you update your site, update MySpace. I post a bulletin w/ a catch topic, one sentence lead and a link to the page on my site. Then I copy that exact same info and post it in the MySpace blog. The key is to always have a link to your site and to never post the entire content, just a lead-in.

- Always send "Thanks for the add" comments. It gets your avatar and profile on other people's pages for more exposure.

- Always send appropriate comments to everyone on your friend list. Always for the holidays! It's easy to find graphics but be sure to add text with your site's name and url in it.

These are pretty easy steps to take and the payoff is big. It can get a little tedious at times, but if you are filling your friends list w/ the right people (common interests are key!!) you will see traffic coming consistently from MySpace.

Ok, I must be too old but I am completely overwhelmed with myspace. I got an account but don't know where to get started. I'd like to use the networking tools and bring people to my site. Could some one provide info on how to get things going for dummies. I'd really like my site to be advertised and get customers from this site.

Thank you
