Hi. I am Michael Bowler, new to the financial aspect of running a website. Before I start my site(s), I am trying to cross all my t's and dot all my i's, so to speak. I will be running at least one, maybe more, website(s) that will be entertainment geared, specifically about celebrities, maybe for one individual celebrity per site. I guess you might say I am starting a few fan sites. Not including the obvious revenue generators like Adsense, I am looking for a good selection of affiliate networks that I can choose from that will accentuate my ideas, due to the fact that ads are worth more to you if they accentuate the content of your site and appeal to your demographic. Any ideas on any affiliate programs I can check out or how I might find them?

Hi there,
Some of my considerations to get Affiliate Programs started quickly are: • Evaluate your own website first. Determine what kind of audience you reach and think about what kind of products your users will be interested in. • Choose an affiliate program that matches your Web site’s subject matter, is easy for you to implement and offers a high commission. • Ad links to products that you feel strongly about or like. For example a site about basketball could feature sports books. • Monitor your commissions and re-evaluate your affiliate program every three to six months. Are you generating revenue? Are there other programs that you should consider joining? Regards

Johny,
Thanks for the tips. They seem to be "common sense", but I am surprised at how I didn't quite have all that articulated in a way that I can organize my thoughts and plans. I appreciate that. (To Johny and/or all members Additionally, do you have any tips on going about finding a good affiliate program or network that fits my demographic? Here are my issues: 1. Finding a program that hits my target is difficult. 2. Knowing, before I sign up and begin, that they offer products or services that are conducive to my site is difficult.

Hi, creativityunlimited, Johny pointed out some good things. Do some research. Visit different forums. Use tools like Appspy . This tool lets you compare affiliate programs from different affiliate networks. All the best.
