Thanks Greg, I have actually covered several features & benefits in my review that will give each individual the power to choose. There is really no right or wrong - it's just all about preference. The only thing I can add is that me personally, I prefer to use one that offers tracking statistics as well. Unfortunately, like I've noted, one of the most popular shorturl services surprisingly does not offer this at all, I'm referring to TinyUrl. My favorites these days are UrlFreeze, ViralUrl and SnipUrl

We have our own Geo-targeted script installed on domains and we just exclude them through robots.txt file..it works like a charm..

We are also looking to sell our geo-targeted script which is very important for affiliates to market their products according to specific locations..!

I just use good ol'e HTML. So say you are promoting "garden secrets", you can just link your code by doing:

<a href="http://www.blahblahblah.com" onmouseover="window.status=''; return true;" onmouseout="window.status=''; return true;" target="_blank">www.yourgardensecrets.com</a>

This will link your code to the blahblahblah.com and the customer will not see any link at all on the bottom of the page, plus the link will open in a new window.

Pretty useful if you ask me.
