Yes, finding a profitable niche is very important to achieve success in affiliate marketing. It is always better to find a niche in those areas where we are specialized in or have love for it.

I think that is very smart. It would be hard for me to make posts about things I do not know a lot about. You have to love what you do!!

I agree with webzedge about diversifying, small payments from several sources can get you a good income. Plan on starting your own website if you start getting into a bunch of programs, though. Much easier to advertise one main site that has all your affiliate programs listed, instead of trying to promote each affiliate site.

if you are going to run a bunch of smaller affiliate sites in different verticals does it make sense to get a dedicated server for hosting and put them all on it? It would seem to me to be easier than having 10 different hosing plans.

if you focus on one topic you can become an expert. You might become an industry leading opinion and someone that people look to. You can't really do that if you are all over the place.

Personally, I don't know if I could spend this much time every day working in a niche I didn't care much about. I would much rather prefer to focus my efforts in an industry I enjoy and make a little less money as a result.

Kinda like a world wide web super store?!

Thumbs up Re: Selecting A Niche

I have tried both approaches, and believe me, the "get into the hot niche" approach has made me a lot more money by far.

There is nothing like giving people what they want, so no matter how much competition a niche might have (because usually the hot niches do have some good competition), there is always room for your marketing efforts.

This way you are making sure your work will not be in vane.

I can see the benefit of being where it is hot. If the searches are coming in and you can rank well, there is room to make money. Do you have any recent examples legitbiz?

Sure, one product very hot right now at Clickbank is Maverick Money Makers, because of the value and usefulness of this marketing community.

If you search for the phrase Maverick Money Makers Review in Google, you will likely find my website in first place (makequickmoney.info). I say likely because sometimes I am not in first place but most of the time I am.

When you look at the results in the next pages (from 1 to 10) you will see a ton of websites and blogs competing for this term, but I am ranking higher I assume because of the SEO I have implemented.

Just by doing this I make several sales per month using this landing page and without any other promotion efforts.

However, I supplement this with another landing page where I promote through article marketing using ezinearticles.com (this website does not get too much hits from search engines). By writing 1 article per day, I send about 5-10 targeted visitors per day regardless of how much competition I might have, so I am profiting from that traffic and the fact that I know people are looking for information about this product.

And of course, every article I write will give me a few visitors during the first days of being published, but they keep sending some few visitors permanently every week, so the more the better!

So the thing is that maybe if you do not rank high in the search engines, you still can manage to send free targeted traffic to your landing page, and if the product is hot and you are doing a good job in providing information about it, chances are your will have a good conversion rate.

Cheers!
