Twitter is rocking nowadays. The hot topic in the Internet Marketing is Twitter. Whether It is used to for traffic or for networking or for spamming. A survey on a blog says that nearly 10% percent of its visitors are from twitter. It is bit difficult at the early stage to make someone follow you and your site. Once when you are able to do it then sure that It will rock!

it seems like it's almost used for ALL of the above. I have an account but I don't use it much. I can see how it's used for promotional techniques, friends, networking and spam.

Any idea if twitter has started generating a ton of revenue yet, or are they going for a sell? Last year, i know that they weren't generating much but their traffic was growing at a ridiculous rate.

It is not that twitter is directly providing you the revenue. It helps to make an attractive group and make them to follow what you say. This completely depends on how you are in the network and you behaviours. When you are able to make them to believe whatever you say then you can take them to your site and make them to continue their visits to the site.

i think you may have misread. I was just curious if twitter is generating revenue as a company, not providing users a way to generate revenue.

Surprisingly, it's great for websites and companies to allow their fans and visitors to keep track of them. My site, Free Stuff Headquarters, has a Twitter page now (both of those are links), simply because it works. Twitter has become popular because of its cell phone convenience, and it really is a good marketing tool now. "Tweet" will soon become an industry standard as fast as Facebook coined "poke", and Myspace became a household word. Myspace was just in that new "chick flick" called "He's Just Not That Into You", where they said that "Myspace is the new 'booty call'". Two years from now or less, TV, movies, magazines, and music will all include the words "Twitter" or "tweet", correctly expecting that everybody will be able to relate it to Twitter.com. If you're not already using it, at least for marketing, you're not ahead of the game.

I don't know about that. Now that they are talking about charging money, I think we might see a fall out. And if they don't charge money, how will they stay competitive? This might have been a bubble.
