Good point Greg. I didn't realize they were planning to charge money. I guess I should have seen it coming when I heard that they had been given millions of dollars from other companies to get started. I haven't seen advertising, so I was wondering how they were making money. If they don't monetize the site like MySpace or Facebook, they would have to charge. If they plan to charge, they may be short lived. I know Free Stuff Headquarters would make the decision to leave Twitter as quickly as we arrived if they try to charge us.

To clarify the point, it appears only some business users will be charged for twitter accounts.

I have been doing some reading on this and from what I can tell, you have to be active on twitter to get any results. If all you do is post, people won't pay much attention to you. If however you reply to people and @them you will gain more of a following. Maybe its worth a try. It appears and though the twitterbubble is slowing though. I wonder if we will see it pop.
