Default Making My Own Affiliate Banners

Most of the time I get good banners but sometimes there is nothing I can work with. I wanted to make my own banners for these programs and think I have the photoshop skills to do it. Is this considered acceptable? I don't want to offend the program, but I do want to make conversions. Anyone ever try it?

Can you program in flash too? I know most banners I see are flash based.

Ask your affiliates if it is acceptable. Some of them are fine with it. In fact, I would make a couple banners myself and pitch them to your affiliates. You might get them to use them and give you a little financial compensation for your efforts. The least you can do is be told not to use your banners. I don't work with an affiliate manager that isn't okay with you marketing what they offer however you see fit. After all, they hope you know your visitors better than they do. If you make a decision or change something, they normally back you up. Shame on an affiliate program that won't back you up.

Actuall you may read the Terms & Conditions Affiliate Managers may usually have. Most of them can accept your using your own banner without hurt their brand.

Ester brings up a good point. Check the T&C to see if it says anything. If not, you are probably in the clear but may want to double check with your AM first.
