Hey Everyone,
As an AM I'm always looking to find out what makes good Affiliates ticks other than the compensation, which is a big part of joining an Affiliate program, but what else do you look for. Examples: - Custom Landing Pages - RSS feeds - Quality program management - Niche - Product line This is a chance for Affiliates to vent and offer constructive comment so AM's and Affiliates alike can be on the same page. Regards,

Quality program management is 80% of my decision. There are so many products out there right now that as affiliates we have options. % Rev is usually fairly similar so it comes down to managers. I would rather get 4% from a manager that responds within 24 hours than 6% from a wild card. It makes my life easier and at my age that is more of a concern than a few hundred $ a month.

Well said Robert.
Thank you for your input. I think an AM needs to be at pretty much be on call so his or her affiliates feel comfortable working with them and their program. I had a situation where an affiliate made a sale but the commission wasn't tracked for some reason. Anyways I saw that there was an additional sale on a product through my marketing stats and was able to track the sale to the affiliate after going through the corporate sales report and the income traffic report. Long story short, we were able to add the commission to that affiliates accumulated commissions and he was very please since there would have been no way of knowing a sale was made. My point is that is doesn't pay for a merchant not to constantly be on top of his or her program and not to pay a commission to an affiliate even if it gets lost. A good AM wants to pay you commissions, the more the affiliate makes $$ the more buzz is created around that merchants affiliate program and the harder the affiliate will work to promote the merchants product line.
