Default backlinks not worth the trouble

I am so tired of trying to get backlinks. It seems like everyone else has thousands and i'm talking to people and getting one or two. Even from directories and stuff. I give up. I will just have to get my on site SEO really high.

No one said it was going to be easy. Backlinking is one of the most time consuming parts of the job. It does have benefits though. Maybe take a break and get back to it in a week or so. We're here to encourage you if you need any help.

Hi there, when you say backlinks, do you mean backlinking from a blog, for example that has a highish (PR 4+)? I am fairly new to SEO and affiliate marketing and have started recently doing a fair bit of backlinking from blogs. I do try to reply with a sensible and relevant comment before leaving my backlink. Do you guys try this method, if so, do you do it yourself or do you pay someone to post comments ?
