The fact is, traffic is nothing if you can not convert. Then why do so many affiliates spend all of their time an effort working on generating traffic, when a few hours of usability testing would work wonders? Your goal as an affiliate is simple, get a visitor to click a link and spend money. There are plenty of ways to go about this, from one time hit and runs to relationship building, but the goal remains the same. So why don't people click on your links? It should be obvious to everyone exactly what to do next from a site. A giant "click here" button is one way to go, but as you get better at design, you can be a little more subtle. If you think about conversion during layout and design, you can use visual cues to point a user towards links. Think about this next time you start a site and save yourself a ton of time trying to get thousands of visitors that aren't converting.

touche. The thing about conversions is that you can set it up from the get go, and then focus on traffic later once you know you have a highly converting site. If you start by focusing on traffic, you are SOL
