Default Opinions on GoDaddy Hosting

My site is still rather small and I don't need a dedicated server yet. Has anyone had good luck with Godaddy? The price is definitely right!

I use Godaddy to register and manage my domain portfolio - but all my hosting is done with Skynethosting.net - can't recommend Skynethosting enough.

One thing I would highly recommend though is to keep your domain registration/hosting and your actual website hosting at seperate places - then if there are any issues you just have to get new hosting and point your domains at the new webhost and you can be back up and running in no time at all.

While godaddy and bluehost are in a class of their own IMO, skynet has something very unique to offer as well. They have set me up with 10 different class c IP's on 10 different cpanels all for little more than I pay at godaddy for a year of hosting. Its not addon domains or whatever like godaddy offers, this is actually 10 separate hosting accounts for the price of one.

Instead of pluging something to my own advantage, I'm still trying to figure out why there should be a difference between where your site is hosted and where your domain is registered.

For the record, I do both. I have most of my domains reg'd via godaddy and I host with various hosting companies (including godaddy).

Are you suggesting that godaddy will go out of business or something? Or do you just not understand fully how DNS works?

I agree, skynet are fantastic. A great hosting provider, and great for gambling websites.

I have used the hosting on GoDaddy and there honestly better, and cheaper options out there. making sure the hosting company is cool with having affiliate links on there is step 1. Dont use someone who makes you pay for a corporate account or any of that crap.
