Default How Difficult Is PPC Really?

I did quite a bit of reading on PPC marketing about 6 months ago and from what I gathered the principal is easy but making any money at it is very tough. Could any affiliates with good PPC experience perhaps link me into some good resources on the topic and give a little more info on the competitiveness of the industry. Thanks in advance.

I would be interested in learning more about PPC as well. I have tried adwords once and I would have been better off buying lottery tickets.

PPC in extremely competitive.

Think about it....... instant traffic for any keyword you care to bid on!

Traffic generation just doesn't get any easier than that, and everyone and their mother is competing for a a piece of that action.

mikebrad is correct. Quality score is key.

You need to get your cost per click down and bump your competition to earn decent ROI.

The free PPC book by Aaron Wall, and recommended by Jeremy, is a good start but you'll need a lot more advanced strategies to beat the PPC game in any profitable niche.

Perry Marshall's "The Definitive Guide To Google Adwords" is considered the bible of PPC....well worth the 49 bucks and I recommend it.

There is a huge amount of PPC info on YouTube and several forums dedicated to PPC..... just search and you will find.

If you have any specific questions about PPC you can PM me.

Are you looking for resources to get started in PPC? The competitiveness per industry is all relative. There are a number of industries that you could exploit via PPC, but it takes extremely hard work and dedication.

Let us know what you are looking for and we can shoot some solid resources your way.

Thanks for the responses. Yes I am looking for some resources to get started on PPC but also really the strategies behind it. Since you are obviously paying for the traffic to be directed to your site, you will need to be pretty good at converting them for whatever you are selling or you stand to lose a lot of money. Is this a correct understanding of the process? So I guess in addition to beginner resources I would like to know if there are any others that deal more with various industries and using PPC to effectively promote via affiliate programs, ads, etc. I know that is pretty broad but hopefully that outlines it a bit further.

Frankly speaking, you cannot learn everything from 'some' articles. Go through a number of books, articles, forum discussions to get the idea and the plan your strategy accordinging to your industry.
