Ok, my buddies and I have been debating this for a few days, do you think this is real?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVnv1WeN1Rg Why in the world would someone like Kobe take that kind of risk if it is real. Either way it is great viral marketing |

As far as I can tell it is fake. Why would he risk life and limb for this stunt?
If you pause through the commercial you will see the physics behind my answer of 'its a fake'. Most notable is the shadow of Kobe versus the shadow of the car. If he were standing directly in the path of the Aston Martin, his shadow would clearly hit higher on the pavement then is seen. On one frame, as he is jumping, the top of his shadow is almost even with the top of the car's shadow, thus proving he didnt risk life and limb for this shot. And to think I once told my physics prof that I would never in my life use physics again! |

i don't think kobe really cares about viral marketing. I once saw vince carter jump completely over a 7'2 guys head and dunk during a game so i wouldn't be surprised if its real. If it is real though, it seems pretty dangerous.
the thing that leads me to believe its fake is the setting they did it in. nothing moves at all but the car and kobe, prime setting to do some layer overlays and look completely real. Last edited by addaminsane; 04-16-2008 at 07:22 PM. |
