How to advertise an online company offline?

Just curious on people's thoughts for an online company using offline advertising. Is offline advertising best saved for large companies? Have people done any sort of offline advertising for their online company that has worked? I'm on a fairly small budget (and am just starting this company) and am curious on people's advice as far as where to start for advertising and whatnot, and whether my focus should be on SEO and maybe a PPC campaign, or are there better routes to start with?

Depending on what your budget is, I think you might be best to stay with SEO and online marketing. I have done some offline advertising with radio and print before and there were two fundamental problems I had with a start-up online business.

1. The cost is pretty outrageous for a 2 month campaign on the radio or an ad in a print magazine.

2. The second issues was that because I was doing both off line and online campaigns, it was hard to track my off line promotions.

When it was all said and done I think for the online business, it would have made more sense to keep my money online and spend it on links, paid reviews, or other online marketing.

This was just my experience though.
