Default Duplicate Content

Black Hat: Use automatic content generators, post on every website that will let you, make slight changes to first and last paragraph and repost, find articles and modify them then post them as your own.

White Hat: Write good articles that are useful, post them on your site, post them on a few select article sites with backlinks.

Honestly, long term strategy says if you are useful you will get noticed if you do some quality marketing. If you flood the interwebs with duplicate and redundant content, you will add to the noise and not be able to retain a user base.

For the sake of the future, stop flooding the web. Be useful, be relevant & keep working hard!

Another form of duplicate content is when you republish lots of content form other sources like article directories.

While republish articles is fine, it shouldn't be your main content source. Keep it low, the less the better. In case you do use articles, make sure you add at least some commentary, include related articles, etc and make the page as unique as possible.

I tend to think of myself as a little black hat, but there is a difference between black hat and lazy spamming. Maybe that is red hat. I think the people that came up with these terms spent a little too much time playing Final Fantasy as kids. Do you guys remember white mage, black mage and red mage? haha
