Default A New Article A Day Keeps the Robots At Bay

Posting one new article per day doesn't seem like much, but it can have a big impact. Think about the benefit of having 30 new pages of quality content on your site right now. I've seen plenty of sites that hardly have 2-3 pages of quality content and I bet you have too. Adding one quality article a day will help ensure the crawlers have something new to find and it will increase the keywords your site ranks for. This is only to mention computer based benefits, humans are a whole new story. If you are constantly updating, people will see the benefit of coming back to your site. I know that if I visit a site a few times over a month and it is the same each time, I naturally assume it will be the same for a while and I stop visiting.

So give it a try, post a new article right now and take your first step towards a continuous content growth strategy.

One article a day is too much. I think one a week is good enough.

I am going to go ahead and offer the split vote on this one. Depending on one's niche, one a day may be to often but once a week is definitely not enough interaction.

I personally believe with seven days in the week, 3 to 4 posts per week is a happy medium. However, I would love to have something to say everyday. That's just me.

An article a day is perfect. If you go with an article a week, you're below the curve. I found from experience that the search engine bots are drawn to frequently updated blogs and sites like a deer in headlights. The more you update, the more you please the bots, simultaneously pleasing the "gods" at Google that we all unknowingly "pray" to.

It doesn't have to be long, and you can just say, "Blah. Nothing to write about. Getting a taco." It's an update... a sacrifice to the bots and the "gods". Google looks down on you and is pleased.

I'm kinda shocked of this kind of attitude, honestly.

You are making a site for bots, or what? The bots are going to buy your products? Do you think a better PR will automatically bring you sales?

Why dont you just put a few random words on the site every day? They only need to be well placed, with enough space between and all is done.

And that is posted in a section subtitled "content is king". By someone who calls himself "creativity unlimited".

It really depends on your outlook. creativityunlimited's comment seems to point towards doing it just for the Google crawl, but then again, getting in a habit will help encourage you to make good posts more.

I find it easier to set a daily goal and then work to hit it, even if I know some days the content will not be top notch. This ensures that there is a lot of good content on the site and helps ensure people will read multiple pages. I wish I could say the user benefit is 100%, but this is 2009 and we know that people work to please the SERPs, its the name of the game.

I think that it depends on your niche, because if your website is too focused on something very specific an article a day might end up being redundant.

Anyway, I consider that posting as often as you reasonably can is the best strategy to keep robots at bay.

Maybe 1 a day or maybe every other day, but keep doing it consistently and you will certainly improve the number of your search engine visits.

Article writing can be tedious and time consuming.
One strategy is to binge write and turn out a stash of articles in a day or two.
Then activate them on a regular basis.
I am way overdue for binge......sigh
