Open Rates On Aweber?

I Have a horrid open rate (less than 10%)_.... is this normal?

It depends where less then 10%. Depending on niche, size of your list, and the age of it... 10% could be very good.

I should also add that community sites have much larger open rates then straight affiliate offers.

I would say that is about average. I've run some campaigns that are around 25% but they are dedicated customers and there are always promotions in the e-mails. At the same time, I've run some with 6% rates and been happy based on the market.

Pay more attention to progression over time, are there more opens every week? If so you're on the right path.
