As they say viral marketing makes use of the natural tendency of a person to want to share something with others which they have found themselves to be informative, entertaining or amazing. I had come across this interesting tell a friend viral widget, which you can get for free.

From what I've heard, you need to have "something" to spread. For instance, one guy Joel Comm wrote an iPhone app called iFart. He's selling it but I think the viral marketing he's obtained from this far outweighs the money he's making selling the app.

We're working on a Firefox/Internet Explorer plugin that we'll give away for free just to have something viral to give away. It will be useful for all those who use social media sites like: Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, etc.

Put your thinking caps on and think of something useful that you could either sell for a couple of bucks or give away to large masses of people. That will create some viral marketing.
