Im just wondering since i began as an affiliate marketer i have had little success and now im starting to wonder about deep linking. whenever your marketing company gives you a deep link to promote some sites and not others are those deep links working like they say they do or am i leaving myself open to loosing profits. I have found that affiliate marketing can be fun rewarding and a lot of work but im beginnig to loose the wind in my sails and pull into the harbor and shut it down.so again i ask does deep linking protect profits or make you an easy target. just newbie trying to see the light at the end of the tunnel

Deep linking works if it linking to a specific promotion or product and you want to promote that then it is a win win you want visitors to do as little page hopping as possible so if you can point them straight to what there looking for then all smiles.

Hi
Deep Linking works, as long as the traffic you're sending to that link is actually looking for that product. Let's say you have a blog about the iphone, you're better sending that traffic to depplink for the iphone than for a homepage where they'll still have to nagivate until they reach what they're looking for. I agree. If they have to do too much before they complete the action, the conversion rate goes down. I have been playing with this a little bit recently and checking the abandoned goal funnel in Google analytics. It helped me make sense of where I was loosing sign ups and I am now doing much better.

Landing pages are very important - so deeplinking makes absolute perfect sense! Just ask yourself if you were looking for a specific product would you rather go to the homepage -- or land on the exact page for your product of interest?
