about 2-3 hours a day. i think i was more venting my frustration though lol.

i have another question however. is it possible to sign up for affiliate programs before i finish my website? because when i sign up it requires that i put my website url in. so i was wondering if maybe i can sign up for one..and build my site and pages around the programs that i have chosen to advertise.

It depends on the program, but I know that some will let you do that. Do you have a domain registered yet? As long as you have that, I think you are ok. But since you probably want your URL to be related to the content of your site, you might have to just go ahead and decide now what niche you want to work in.

I am about to create a post about this, suggesting it to the AP community. I receive a great magazine called Website Magazine absolutely free. It's a great magazine with a lot of informative articles. Last month's issue had an article about the top 50 affiliate programs, which I will post when I have more time. You can get that magazine for free by clicking here. If you look through the site, you can order as many free trade, industry, economic, and business magazines as you want, all for free, risk free. It's a great deal. I receive at least 10 over the course of a month including Website Magazine, Business Week, etc.

Just a thought. I thought Website Magazine would be a great time investment for you. I love it.

Your website must be up and running to get those magazines

It does take some time.
I work 8 to 18 hours per day with my sites.
If at all possible you will want to theme your site on something that you love. This way it doesn't seem so much like a job. Also your passion will show in the work that you do.

An online business should be treated just like a land based business. You would not open up a land based business (brick & mortar) without a business plan. Then why do it with an online business? You still need goals and a plan to obtain those goals. Otherwise you will find yourself running around in circles and soon become discouraged.

I wish you the best of luck!

I do 8 to 18 hours per day at a job I hate. If you theme your site on something that you love like HCG mentioned, it should end up enjoyable.
