Default newbee questions

Hi all,

I was recently researching info on how to make some extra $$$ with an internet business and came across info on affiliate marketing. I am pretty sure I wanna give this a shot, but have some questions. I have chosen a Niche Market and located a couple affiliate programs that offer products relevant to my niche. I keep saltwater reef aquariums as a hobby and feel versed enough to write some brief articles, and product reviews to help other hobbyist. However, I know absolutely nothing when it comes to starting and designing a website that I could use with an affiliate program. Can someone point me in the right direction? The cheaper the better, but I want it to look good. Also, is it possible to just start an internet store that just sells these products rather than being a website publishers with a few links to products?

Thanks
Robert

Well I found this tutorial for building a website using godaddy.com here:
http://www.letsallmakemoneyonline.co...bpagetoday.pdf

Can anyone comment on using godaddy.com as a web host?

Godaddy is a fine host to use. There are some things about it I don't care for much, but if this is your first site, they should fit your needs. If you want some other good options to compare, look at BlueHost & HostGator.

Thanks Greg! I looked at all three sites to try to compare the products, but I don't know what to look at. Can you tell me which one you prefer and why? The only reason I was looking at godaddy is because of that tutorial I found. If I can find a tutorial for a better host, I'll go with it. Would it be possible/difficult to start off with one host and switch to an other as my knowledge/site grows?

Sorry for all the questions, but I'm money hungry and want to get this ball rollin.

Thanks
Robert

GD is a good start. Moving a site depends upon how complex it is. If it is a static site with no database then it is a snap. The more complex the more work involved.

If you are completely new you will want to learn the basics.
A good place is HTML Tutorial
There are many others also.
Another option is to find someone to mentor you. This may be a bit harder as most online merchants are extremely busy.
Just remember not to overload yourself. I have been doing this for many years and still learn something every day.
Also, do not expect results in a short time. Developing an online presence takes time, long hours, and a love for your business in order to do it correctly.

The best of luck to you!!

Thanks HCG,

I think I'll go with GD for now as the tutorial looks pretty easy.

I think that is the right decision. I used GoDaddy for my first website and it helped make things easy. If ever you need another site, by then you will know what to look for and thats how you know its time to move.

I still have a dedicated server there for my stores. It helps with the PCI Data Security Standards.
If they give you any trouble rlugo let me know and we'll go through rocks at them
