Default Newbie to affiliate programs

Ok so I am going to start a web page that does not sell products but has guides to a game I play. I am mostly just doing this for fun but would love to generate some sort of income off of affiliate programs. Is this even possible? Are affiliate programs free?

Some of them are free. Your site will actually have a very good chance at selling other video games. If I were you, I would sign up for a program that sells video games and then include the links, that way people might buy the other game and you would get paid a % of the sale. In the directory there is one program that sells games, you should look at it, I think it will help you. Shopping - Electronics - AffiliatePrograms.com

Hello AMW28!
There are millions of people successfully doing what you intend to do.
By concentrating on specific games you become an authority on the subject. And Google loves authority sites!
I am currently working on a process for the HomeComputerGames.com blog that will enable all HCG affiliates to be able to post their content and articles in it. They will also be able to include their HCG advertisement in the blog.
This in effect gives them an additional avenue of revenue.
Search "parent's guide to video game systems" on Google with the quotes. You will see that this article written at HCG has been picked up by many other sites.

Good luck with your website!

HCG

AMW28, in case you didn't realize. HomeComputerGames is the affiliate manager for a site that sells video games. If you are looking to make money off the internet in a video game related way...look no further.

Hi AMW28,

There are many ways you can generate income from your website you are describing. What kind of gaming website will it be? The Advaliant platform has a Real Arcade campaign - I'm not sure if this is of interest, but please let me know. I would be happy to help you get started with us.
