Fake it = meant create your own animation if you had to.

When planning nothing is ahead of its time. How often are ideas forgotten because they were not acted upon?

There are soooooooo many animation type screen savers. It would be awesome to do one with actual footage. However, an animated one would work.

I the surf industry there is a company called Volcom which is right down the street from me. They have an artistic theme in which things are cut out but you can tell they are supposed to be cut out. Maybe you could do an aquarium where it was a video of a real aquarium bubbling and stuff but there were no fish in it. Then you had pictures of fish that looked like they were cut out by hand, or even children's drawing of fish. Those fish would go in different directions and you could say something like "tired of faking it? get everything you need at xxx.com"

That's a great idea!

Poor guy, we'll have him creating animated backgrounds for fish tanks and selling live data feed advertisements on them that goes to everyone's home that use this newly developed animated aquarium background before he even gets his first web page live

I'm ok with overwhelming him a little, because these ideas are golden. I wish I was in a niche that was so much fun. I would try and compete, but I don't know the first thing about fish. If I ever tried to do research I would get too distracted by the pictures of reefs and thinking about how the waves would break over them.

I know eating some of those fish would get pretty expensive.

You will not limit yourself to one marketing project.
Once you successfully create one screensaver you will soon have 100 of them of various types. The SEO benefit alone will be worthwhile once you figure out your distribution avenues..
