thanks and thanks under my user name

What are the thanks and thanked counts under my user name for?

At one point we had a system where you could thank people for making a post that was helpful. The numbers under your name would show you how many people you had thanked (thanks) and how many people had thanked you (thanked) and the number of posts of yours that received at least one thanks. We turned it off for now, but maybe it will come back at some point as we continue to grow.

You got it. It would help separate those people that made useful posts from those people that just talked off topic. As you can see, from the limited time it was up, I have 6 thanks. (I"m kind of a big deal around these parts... )
