Hi everyone have 2 questions question for you about affiliate marketing 1) will google ban / de list my site if i use a .org or .ork.uk apparently these are supposed to be for non - profits,, but i see loads of people using them to make profit 2) ....will explain in an example e.g.: if I wanted to set up a site that gives people lots of info on a genre of product - e.g.: solar powered calculators (just an example) so first thing is I need to make sure that there are lots of companies stocking these.... right? so for the uk market... the usual suspects would be Tesco / John Lewis / gadget shop etc etc... but then I suddenly notice that john Lewis don't stock them, neither do Tesco,, but there are loads of little independents selling them,, but problem is they don't have an affiliate program so the whole exercise was pointless. after reading on some affiliate sites, blogs etc I can see that there are some steps that always go something like this step 1. find a niche to write about step 2. launch site step 3 do SEO surely step 2 should be ... Make sure there are enough people selling it that have affiliate programs do you agree? or am I missing something? - apologies if it is obvious i am completely new p.s maybe that's an idea - i.e. a search directory for afiliators (rather than manual search) to make sure that there are enough people selling or providing a service before the affiliatior decides to get into this area?

Hmm, that kind of fits into step 1. Yes it does make sense to ensure people are selling them. With most things that are sold online, people are though. Unless you get very niche, I think you will be covered, and if you choose to go for a very small niche, I would hope you had some know how on it.

Thanks for that Greg. still a bit lost . maybe i should explain better. ok yes most products are sold online, but not always by sellers who have an affiliate program.
So if i decided i wanted to set up an affiliate site tomorrow that is about "recumbent bicycles" for example is there an easy way to find out if there are many sites selling them , but that also offer affiliate programs. there are many sites that sell recumbents but none that offer affiliate programs In order for me to earn my comission i need to promote a site that offers an affiliate program ... right?? |
