I have heard that blog’s may not be the best for $$

With that said I have 2 blog’s I have started and am currently using Google adsense and Amazon on one of the blog’s. I need some input both blogs originally had the same layout but some one suggested I change. They said the black was very tough on the eyes. So I modified that blog but left the older one the same. Any suggestions to content or layout would be openly taken. I want to do this be for trying to get a lot of traffic out to these sites. I will also be following all the posts here for any other info I can get from other folks trying to make a little cash from the web

The important thing is to make sure your blog is reader friendly. There will be a lot of different opinions based on the opinion giver's personal preference
I think the acid test is you look at it and decide if it is a blog you would like to read
