Default Adopting technology

Technology is always changing and I feel that trends can easily shift the way we function - mostly for the better. The other day I was playing with my girlfriends iPhone and I started to feel that it was extremely empowering and actually provided an incredible amount of features. I almost feel that it turns people superhuman. Now take into consideration that little rich kids who are at private schools probably have iPhones and they're under 10 years old! Could you imagine being that incredibly resourceful?

I remember being in 11th grade and having to use a payphone to call my dad. The idea of having the internet within my pocket at that age just... frustrates me. But then again, is it nicer that I spent my afternoons playing endless GI battles with my brother? and enjoying the thrill of discovering a few new topics via 14.4k?

Sorry I got really nostalgic.

I remember us having a black and white tv when I was kid.....
I wonder how long it would take today's youth to figure out how to change the channel to one of the 4 or 5 available channels we had with those funny looking knobs on the thing?

Imagine what it could be if the world quit putting most of their resources into military technology and concentrated on a better life. I guess some things never change though.
