Targeting Adwords when you have organic page 1 rankings

I have been planning out this fall's adwords campaign and have come across an issue I am unsure of. I have many keywords that have made the grade on Google organic search since last year.

I am wondering, Should I target an Adwords ad for a keyword that I currently rank on page 1 for in the organic search returns?

My thinking is that this will add trust between the 2 different types of placements located on the same Google page.

Thoughts?

I was thinking of a way to help you. I searched Tires and TireRack.com came up as the #2 sponsored and the #2 organic. So it looks like it is possible by Google, and that maybe it even helps with placement. As far as user trust goes, name exposure is always good.

It will make for an interesting test to see which placement is clicked more often. The organic or the paid ad.
If things keep moving the way they have been I should be up there on some of the major keywords come Christmas season. If I do it's bonuses for all my affiliates!!

Actually I just landed on page 2 of Google SERPS for a grand daddy keyword not an hour ago. As I am a man of my word I might be eating these words of mine and handing out bonuses for real.....
I guess I should watch what I post....
