Hello,

Do you think Automatic Directory Submission is a Waste of Time?

I paid for a few times on directory submission guys. They said they 'd use manual submission method but I think they used automatic software to submit to about 500 directories. Their work was done fast.

After about 3 weeks of submission, my site got indexed on google for some keywords. However, these keywords were not indexed after few weeks later and even got worse than before submission.

My question is "does it hurt my site ranking if we submitted too many directories in a short time?"

Is automatic directory submission waste of time?

I experienced the same thing a few times when I first used article submission services as you described. I later changed to only 50 submissions per day, if and only if my keywords matched the categories of the directories. That seemed to help.

Manual submission is the best way that also means you can build up the links slowly say a few a day inead of 300 in one day.

Get a directory submitter that allows you to automatically vary your title and description. There are many on the web. This is the one i use and works a treat.

I think your site getting indexed in 3 weeks has nothing to do with the directory submissions. Frankly three weeks is a long time to get a site indexed.
