How many backlinks required?

As if i try to rank higher in google search engine for a specific keyword, how may baclinks will i need? any clue?

In all honesty, it depends on the keyword and how many links other people have and how many other links are going out from the sites that link to you. Basically, just get as many as you can.

To get started, try for a manageable number like 25. Once you get there, reward yourself, think about what strategies worked well, and then go for 100.

There is no specific number of backlinks anyone can tell to gain SERPs...it's just that you need to build relevant and quality backlinks..don't worry about the numbers as you would never know how google consider them..!

Sounds like it's a hard task after generating more than thousand backlinks my site is ranking on second and third for specific keywords and the results are continuously fluctuating google is applying changes continuously for search results, they are changing after every 24 hours. will need to get back and generate some more backlinks.

Very tough indeed. That is the point though. If it were easy, sites that weren't relevant would rank high.

Maybe your problem are not your backlinks or your rank, but your SEO.
