Do you mean you are looking for freelancing work? If so I would suggest elance.com. It is a great place to go if you are looking for some extra work.

Or you can do research on one particular SEO icon like Matt Cutts and his involvement in the development of SEO

Unfortunately many topics have been covered. One topic that is new that you might be able to rank for is PR sculpting. Google just announced changes that make is so all links going out from a page split PR, the nofollow links just don't receive the benefit. This means many people will see drops in their PR as all of the sites linking to them that also have nofollow links now will be sending less juice. It will be interesting to see what happens because for a while, only sites with quality links will stay the same while others will all drop.

Well, when it comes to SEO research, you will find many topics. However, out of those many topics, if you would like to research then you can work on RSS feeds as I think this topic is not given the importance it should get. Also, RSS feeds will definitely gain more importance in future.

You can research on:
* article submission * forum posting (through signature) * web directory submission * blog directory submission * participating in community sites like Yahoo Answers * press release submission * online group posting * promotional ads * link exchange * Social bookmarkings * Feed submission
