I've been using CS3 suite since it came out and since I am making a transition to a new computer I figured it might be a good time to look at the new option. Is it worth it? Any big differences? I've heard Flash had big updates, but I haven't seen enough to sway me towards DW 4.

I downloaded a trial and though I liked it, I don't think I liked it $900 worth. It is hard to say though because a lot of the new features have to do with customization of the interface. For some people the new features will save them a lot of time and for others (like me) it isn't too big of a deal because I use it mainly for simple sizing and layering. If you want to know if it is worth it for you, try it out for a free month... Adobe - Downloads

When something is new, I normally hang on before switching. I still don't even have Windows Vista yet, because I want to make sure the horror stories dwindle before I switch. I'll probably be there by summer. Believe it or not, I'd resist the switch for a little while longer if I were you. CS4 isn't going to have many more features than CS3. Give it some time, wait for consumer reports, and see what happens. Mostly, make sure there are no brand news features. If there aren't, what's the hurry? Take your time.

I've been using most of the programs for a few weeks now. The thing is I'm also on a mac now so its hard to tell which parts of the learning curve are because of each factor. I don't notice much of a difference in photshop, it feels very similar. I hadn't used premiere much, so I can't say too much on that. From what I can tell, if you already have cs3, you will be ok keeping it, but if you are looking to buy new, cs4 works fine.

I can't help but agree with you Greg. If you're going to fresh buy, buy up. It would be horrible to buy CS3 in fear of problems, just to have to upgrade again. I'm just saying that if you already have CS3 and CS4 isn't amazingly better, there is no hurry.
