If you’re running your affiliate website on WordPress, you’re going to need a plugin to create a form. A good form will help you capture visitor emails for your autoresponder list, collect customer feedback, and if you’re selling your own product – process orders through PayPal.
Over the past few years, I’ve built more than 200 WordPress websites, using a variety of custom form code and plugins. (I don’t recommend custom coding a form, only because you can use a plugin to achieve what you need in half the time.) There are good free plugins available, such as Fast Secure Contact Form and Contact Form 7, which I continue to recommend.
But as my needs, and the needs of my clients, continued to grow a little more complex, I started to outgrow these other form resources and looked for a more comprehensive, out-of-the-box solution that didn’t require extensive configuration.
And then I learned about Gravity Forms, a premium (which means paid) plugin that does everything I need it to do, and more!

Through add-on plugins, it also integrates well with email services Aweber, Mail Chimp and Campaign Monitor, as well as other web tools such as Freshbooks, PayPal and Twilio (which allows users to sign up for text updates from your site). In addition, it integrates with the WordPress user registration feature, which makes it easy for users to register with your site.
Activating an add-on for Gravity Forms is as easy as clicking a button.
While all of this is available to anyone who wants to create custom code, I would ask why you want to code something that you can access through a plugin? Using a plugin is a faster, and safer, way of extending your WordPress site. For just a few dollars, you can quickly extend your site and then focus on what’s most important: creating great content and driving traffic to your site.
Anyway, there are five uses for Gravity Forms I want you to know about. Implement just one of these ideas, and you may find yourself increasing your traffic
Integrate with your autoresponder
In addition to using Gravity Forms to create a sidebar widget that collects email addresses, you can use the feedback you get through comments and your contact form to immediately add users to your email list. And as we all know, the bigger your list, the bigger your commissions.
Have users generate content
If you want to have an area of your site that contains user-generated content, use Gravity Forms to manage the content in that area.
Create a directory site
If you’re running a review site or a local directory, you can do it through Gravity Forms. While there are more expensive plugins that enable this, Gravity Forms allows you to do most of what you’ll need for something like a local restaurant index or a product review site.
Run a contest
Want to run a contest through your website? Use Gravity Forms to manage it. You can even limit responses to a specific number of entrants.
