JCPenney Affiliate Program: Overview

JCPenney is a long-standing retailer with stores throughout the United States. Their product line includes apparel, home goods, and décor. Their placement around the States allows their online shoppers same day, in-store pickup for thousands of goods.

JCPenney runs regular promotions and offers driving waves of new and repeat customers. They’re a staple in most malls and have a strong online presence. JCPenney rewards club and its branded credit card keep customers coming back for more. Some stores also offer optical, gift registries, and Sephora beauty supplies & services.

About the JCPenney Affiliate Program

The JCPenney affiliate program is barebones considering the size of the brand. Yet, they offer an ample selection of products and services worth promoting.

Partners in the JCPenney program can begin earning a base 3% commission (through VigLink). Or, slightly higher commissions on other networks like Rakuten. Their program is an ideal fit for those in the retail, fashion, or home niche.

In the program, partners will gain access to creative banners, and reporting & tracking tools.

The JCPenney Program: Pros and Cons

JCPenney doesn’t have the same pizazz as it did when the brand first launched. But, they remain a staple across malls in America. Their product catalog remains strong and competitively priced.

What are the great benefits of joining the JCPenney program? What won’t you like as a partner?

Pros:

  • Wide selection of high-quality goods and apparel
  • Same day, in-store pickup with online orders

Cons:

  • Declining interest in the brand
  • Low 3% commissions for their goods

JCPenney Offers and Promotions: Our Verdict

JCPenney and its offers and promotions is an appropriate choice for an older audience. Their brand isn’t as hot to the younger crowd (a bit like Macy’s). But, their premium pricing more than makes up for its low commission rates.

The JCPenney affiliate program provides a good mid-tier set of promotions. Their brand and products would fit well on any retail and online shopping blog. Or, as solo campaigns promoting its fashions, home goods, and/or services.

If the JCPenney’s partner program commission rate was higher we’d say go all-out. But, you’re better off with one of the bigger brands in this market – or niching into something unique. Overall, though, we think their program could prove profitable with the right content and effort.
