Affiliate with Amazon and promote a high-dollar, high-commission niche

Affiliate with Amazon and promote a high-dollar, high-commission niche – affiliateprograms.comWhen you’re starting off with your affiliate marketing business, you’re going to quickly find that having a great idea isn’t enough. The challenge is that a topic you’re passionate about, such as Internet marketing … or breeding rabbits, might not be a great way to make money.

Why is this? There are two hurdles affiliates normally encounter:

1)    There aren’t any affiliate programs in the niche to monetize (Search for rabbit affiliate programs and see what you find).

2)    The chosen niche is so crowed that your site will never surface on the first, or even second or third, page of Google search results (While there are more than 1 million searches for Internet Marketing are made each month, the competition is high).

Frankly, choosing a great program, and a great niche, is the most important things you can do as a new affiliate. As you’re identifying your niche, you should look for a category with a  high demand for information and a low level of competition compared to that demand.

Without the right niche, you won’t make money. So one of the reasons why I recommend the Amazon Associates program to new affiliates is because is loaded with hundreds of high-commission, high-dollar products you can build an affiliate business around.

The challenge for new affiliates is finding a great category to focus on. For instance, many new affiliates assume that electronics would be a great category to sell on their site. The problem with that niche is that lots of other affiliates think the same thing, and electronics keywords can be exceptionally competitive.

For today’s post, I’m going to show you four great niches you can build an affiliate site around. I used the Google keyword tool to find four product categories that would be great opportunities for affiliates.

You may find that these keywords give you some great ideas on content for your site. For instance, the keyword “keurig or tassimo” suggests that an in-depth review of both the Keurig and Tassimo coffee makers would satisfy the needs of your audience.

All of these categories are available at and you can sell any of them on your site as a member of the Amazon Associates affiliate program.

Hi what do you recommend to those of us who live in California? Since Amazon has cut us off? William

Talk to your lawyer and see what you can do to set up your business in another state. There are also a few programs that haven’t pulled out of California. We’ll look at those soon.

Hi I start doing this website with Amazon Assoicated Program and I have a question. My question is when I referred someone to my website and they bought something. My referral commission goes up. For example, beginning my referral commission is 4% and if someone bought over 7 item. My referral commission goes up to 6%. Does it start over to 4% every beginning of the month?

Yes, it does. That’s why it pays to keep your volume high.
