I have found that people appreciate details at times even though much is repeated and old news. My view is, even though something has been asked 1,000 times it does not hurt anything to respond with an informative answer. Too many times I have seen lesser forums tell people to "go search it".

I never understood this behavior from a forum.
It just seems to me that a forum is also a business and the people that frequent it are its customers. They need to be treated as such.
Plus, with the "tell people to go search" philosophy it seems that once all of the questions are asked and answered that the forum would quit growing. Except for the responses of " go search" of course. That would be a book, not a forum

That is a tough balance. Sometimes someone nails the answer so awesomely that we want to make sure everyone has access to it. That is part of the reason why we have a lot of good info in the .EDU section. Once in a while we will put a thread as sticky if it seems really good, but I have seen a few forums where the whole first page is stickies. At that point you are less of a forum and more of a blog.

It's steady growth but it is summer growth. Summer always slows down until it gets real hot outside. Then people come back inside
For the product end of the site much of the year is geared at Branding for holiday sales.
Last Christmas season kept us pretty busy fulfilling orders. I have another year of brand aging this year which drops Adwords advertisement costs.. With a little kick in the economy it should be another good season. It is only 5 months away for the start of the season.
I am already thinking about this seasons advertisement runs including video advertisement if I have time.

To confirm what HCG said, a lifetime cookie is almost unheard of. That is a great offer to anyone that has traffic of a similar demographic. I'm not positive but I think the main video game demographic is Males 14-35, though there are many players from a diverse range.

That is correct but I think the age is going up as us once younger gamers are getting older
I often meet people my age in online games, even mmorpg, when I am "testing" them out...

Thats true, the longer we go on, the more people there are that grew up with video games. Just last night I was playing some SNES thinking about how great my childhood was. Maybe for some people it was the NES or possibly the Atari 2600
